The Project

Babelcolour is the on-line name of Stuart Humphryes, a colourising artist best known for his work on the BBC TV Series Doctor Who. Babelcolour’s colourisation works have received recommendations from BBC America, The Guardian, The Radio TimesSFX Magazine and the official Doctor Who Magazine. Among his credits are colourisations for the BBC’s ‘Terror of the Zygons’, ‘Mind of Evil’ and ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ DVD releases.

The project brief was to take the website we had created for Babelcolour way back in 2009 and give it a complete overhaul. This included a total redesign, in line with modern design aesthetics, and the creation of a mobile-friendly, responsive, theme to comply with Google’s contemporary preferences. Babelcolour was keen to make his video work central to the site theme, so a home page was constructed which would allow the use of a video background, which can be replaced by Babelcolour through the CMS. Full integration with Babelcolour’s hugely popular YouTube channel was also a must, as well as editable gallery functions.

From the Client

“Very friendly, clear and helpful dialogue, with an impressive knowledge of web features and add-ons that tailored the website specifically for my needs. I couldn’t be happier with the end product. The guidance and well-considered suggestions provided for me at every stage of the website’s design made me feel part of the whole process. What more could I have wanted than that?”
